The International School of Leuven (ISL) offers international education in English for children of expatriates and foreign employees. The school welcomes children between 2,5 and 12 years old. It is housed on the campus of its partner school, Vrije Basisschool Terbank-Egenhoven in Heverlee, close to imec.
The pupils will work in mixed-age groups and all lessons will be taught in English. Our teachers are able to support pupils with little or no knowledge of English. The children will also receive lessons in Dutch (and some French in grades 5 and 6).
All pupils at ISL will follow the International Primary Curriculum (IPC). The goal of the IPC is for children to focus on a combination of academic, personal and international learning. The IPC is taught in schools around the world.
ISL wants children to enjoy their learning and develop enquiring minds. We also want them to develop the personal qualities they need to be good citizens of the world, and develop a sense of their own nationality and culture, at the same time developing a profound respect for the nationalities and cultures of others. Most of all, we want children to develop all the skills they will need in order to confidently face the world of tomorrow.
