Organization
The activities of imec are grouped in 3 technology units:
- The unit Process Technology contains all imec’s activities related to IC scaling.
- The unit Smart Systems and Energy Technology develops innovative integrated applications for wireless communication, autonomous sensor networks, biomedical solutions, and solar energy.
- Last, the unit FAB and Process R&D groups all knowledge on supporting processes and tools.
Within these technology units, our experts are organized in competence pools. This stimulates peer-to-peer knowledge exchange, and allows researchers to take part in various technology programs. And ultimately, it enables us to answer more flexibly to questions of our partners and to changes in the scientific and economic environment.
